Provincial Nominee Program
Every Canadian province as well as the Yukon and Northwest Territories operate a Provincial Nominee Program aimed at attracting and retaining skilled non-Canadians that provide the business experience, education and expertise required to improve and enhance the unique economies of each geographic area. Quebec has a unique program that is not technically a provincial nominee program but is unique to this province and called the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.
There are great advantages to utilizing the Provincial Nominee Programs as a path to Permanent Residency to Canada if they are available to you. If a province approves your nomination, you may be eligible to receive a Work Permit prior to your application for Permanent Residence being finalized. These programs are definitely worth investigating if you are any of the following:
• A graduate of a Canadian post-secondary institution;
• Are currently working in Canada as a temporary foreign worker;
• Have the financial means and are interested in opening a business in Canada;
